Department of Geography

The department of Geography was founded in 1937 through the efforts Prof. R. N. Dubey, who later became the first professor & Head of the Department. Undergraduate study started immediately and the Post-Graduate study was started in 1946.The Geographers from the school of Geography, University of Allahabad have published more than 50 reference books, 372 research papers, organised seven national & international seminars & symposia and founded two societies i.e. Allahabad Geographical society & Institute of Indian Geomorphologists.
